As per a report:

An Indian man is recovering well after undergoing surgery to remove a bullet that had been lodged in his heart for two months, a doctor said. Bharat Sharma, 32 was shot twice in July after becoming accidently caught up in a bank robbery in the country’s eastern Uttar Pradesh state, according to a report in the Times of India.

Sharma had surgery to remove a bullet lodged in his waist, but local surgeons had refused to take out the one in his heart, fearing he would die instantly, the report said. Sharma finally travelled to the western city of Ahmedabad for the surgery on Tuesday to remove the .20 calibre bullet lodged near the apex of his heart’s left ventricle.

Cardiac surgeon Anil Jain said he and his team of two performed a “complicated” three-hour operation to remove the bullet and stitch up the heart. “The bullet was stuck horizontally between the valves,” said Jain, from the SAL private hospital in Ahmedabad. “Also, since the patient had lost lots of blood after the incident, we had to be very careful,” he told AFP. “How the patient survived and reached us is pure destiny, Jain said

As per a report:

Every year a group of pampered elephants at the Punnathoor Cotta Elephant Yard Rejuvenation Centre receive elaborate spa treatments. The elephant yard is attached to the Guruvayurappan Hindu temple in Kerala, India.

The rejuvenation centre – which is attached to the famous Guruvayurappan Hindu temple – can host up to 59 elephants, and the tusked giants are happy to laze in the water while workers scrub them clean with brushes. The elephants play a key role in Kerala’s legendary temple processions and – with July considered a month of rejuvenation for humans and animals alike – these ellies are certainly not complaining.

As per a report:

A man-eating leopard in Uttarakhand has become infamous for his peculiar habit of killing inebriate male folks. The Didihat region in Kumaon hills is reeling under the terror of the jungle cat for the past two and half years, during which the leopard has been involved in killing a dozen villagers. Such is the fear that the locals make it a point to return home before sunset.

The jungle cat has spread its reign of terror over the past two-and-a-half years, in the Didihat region of the Kumoan hills in Himalayan India. Repeated attempts have been made to shoot the elusive leopard after the Uttarakhand Forest Department declared it as a man-eater. The beast began its killing spree in January 2012, attacking a 46-year-old man from the Simar village. And the spotted killer went on to claim five more victims that year and five in 2013. So far in 2014, two more victims have perished, the latest one a 44-year-old on August 1.

Villagers have voiced fears that the animal is preying on men stumbling home drunk after dark. It is believed the animal is between 10 and 12-years-old and may have developed a taste for human flesh when it was unable to catch its favoured food, dogs. Many villagers in the region now return home before sundown and carry sticks as the travel through forested areas. Attempts to hunt down the dangerous wild cat have failed.

Lord Hanuman gets Aadhaar card

As per a report:

Lord Hanuman of epic Ramayana has now got an Aadhar card in Rajasthan. He has been assigned a 12-digit number as part of the government’s Aadhar scheme. He has got a mobile number, an address, and the father name is “Pawan-ji”. Interestingly, the card, issued in the name of “Hanuman-ji”, shows the deity wearing a crown and a string of pearls.

This is not an isolated case. The ertwhile UPA Government’s much-hyped card has come under the scanner on numerous occasions. Lakhs of Aadhar cards on fake names and addresses have been issued by the government agencies across the country. The government had also outsourced the task of issuing the cards to the various private agencies and they have been doing so without carrying out proper verification. In fact, it was Vicky Kumar, a computer operator, who hit up on the idea of submitting an Aadhar application.

He said that he had tried three or four times to get an Aadhar card, but his finger prints were not accepted. “So I applied in the name of Hanuman and I gave my address and phone number,” he said. This clearly shows that one can easily get an Aadhar card by paying money to the touts. The card is also available to illegal migrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh. By paying as little as `500-`1000, the Bangla migrants have also got cards in Delhi and across the country. Many agents are operating pan-India rackets to issue these cards. And they have even managed to get around the so-called unbeatable Unique Identification system.
