As per a report:

Police were finally able to recover an 11g gold chain from a chain snatcher after making him eat eight dozen bananas. The man had swallowed the chain after stealing it from a doctor on board a long-distance train. Kalyan GRP informed Dr Sheetal Kamble, currently in Akola district, about the recovery of her chain on Thursday from the accused Damu Gupta (28). Police said on December 22, Bandra resident Kamble was travelling in the S7 compartment of Vidarbha Express when Gupta snatched the chain she was wearing and escaped.

Alarmed by her cries for help, fellow passengers chased Gupta and caught him from S8. "Gupta vehemently claimed he was innocent and passengers too could not find any chain on him. But a traveler said he had noticed Gupta swallowing something and assumed it must have been the chain," police said. "We initially conducted a regular X-ray but it didn't detect anything.

So on Wednesday, we conducted an ultrasound which revealed the chain in Gupta's abdomen," said Sampat Nirmal, senior inspector, Kalyan GRP. From Wednesday afternoon, the accused was fed bananas on the doctor's advice, as the fruit is a natural laxative. Police said after the chain's recovery, the accused confessed that he had committed similar offences in his village in Uttar Pradesh accused for which he served jail terms.

'Prime Minister' & his 'Cabinet' look after this School

Subscribe to My Viuz Subscribe to My Viuz in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY MSN! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY AOL! Subscribe to My Viuz in Rojo!
As per a report:

Koraput (Odisha):As you enter Sevashram, a residential school for SC and ST students at Sipaiput in Odisha’s Koraput district, you are welcomed by the “prime minister” of the school. While the prime minister, Binod Hontal of Class VII, is in overall charge, other ‘ministers’ look after sanitation, cleanliness, hygiene and other matters in a novel experiment in school running.

Thus, Manjula Mudagadia, a 13-year-old student, sees to it that toilets remain clean in her capacity as the “health and sanitation minister”. “Food minister” Budu Pangi ensures that the kitchen is kept hygienic and the students are served food properly. The ministers are part of a five-member school ‘cabinet’ which was formed in July, 2013. They were elected by students for a period of two years. The idea to involve students in the upkeep of the school did not come randomly.

It was mooted by Odisha government and one teacher from each school underwent a four-day training schedule as a first step towards implementing it. “Children are instruments of change. With the concept of making a student the prime minister, assisted by a cabinet, a daily routine is ensured of checking whether their schoolmates have bathed, combed and washed,” says S Nageswar Rao, the headmaster. Rao feels that the idea would also help develop leadership qualities and social responsibility among the students.

He claimed that after the introduction of the concept, attendance rate at the school has increased appreciably. “A meeting of the cabinet is held every Saturday, where we discuss the problems of the school. The health minister has been trained to give medicine to students suffering from diarrhoea and fever,” he said. Apart from the food and health ministers, the school cabinet has ministers for sports, environment and cultural activities.

Here is the Astonishing Story of a Woman who was Raised By Monkeys. As per a report:

Marina Chapman, a sixtysomething grandmother from Bradford, published an autobiography in which she made an astonishing claim. She said she had been kidnapped from her family home in Colombia at the age of five and abandoned in the jungle, where she was taken in and raised by a group of capuchin monkeys. Instead of just smiling and nodding politely, like many of the Breakfast TV interviewers did, National Geographic made Woman Raised By Monkeys, a documentary in which their cameras accompanied Marina on a trip to Colombia and attempted to investigate the veracity of her claims.

The police have arrested an 18-year-old college dropout who posed as a businessman on Facebook and sweet-talked a 14-year-old into giving him Rs 10 lakh worth jewellery and cash she had stolen from home. Fittingly, the cops nabbed the accused, identified as Misbah Ayub Ali Khan, by baiting him by creating a fake Facebook profile of a woman. Khan, who was arrested from his hometown in Uttar Pradesh, has been remanded to police custody till December 16. “The accused was a student of hotel management in Rizvi but stopped going to college some months ago,” said DCP Mahesh Patil, who headed the investigation.

After chatting with some of the girls for a few days using the Armaan profile, Khan decided his target — a 14-year-old schoolgirl. He told her he is a successful businessman with a lot of property. Soon, they were talking of getting married. “Khan told the girl he had a Rs 2-crore worth plot where he would construct a villa for them to live.” But, Khan told the girl, there was hitch. He had raised Rs 1.7 crore, but was falling short of Rs 30 lakh. The girl immediately volunteered to help. The next day, she stole 19 tola of her mother’s gold jewellery and some cash — totalling Rs 10 lakh — and handed it over to Armaan. When the ‘Armaan’ Facebook profile went dormant, she realised she had been cheated.

On November 28, she confessed to her parents. Following her parents' complaint, the police first visited Khan's grandparents at Saki Naka. They were told Khan had not come home for 10 days and they were worried. After two days, Malad police inspector Maruti Sangle, decided to turn the tables on him. Sangle created a Facebook profile in a girl’s name and sent ‘Armaan’ a friend request., which Khan accepted.

How Mobile Phone Habits Annoy Others

Subscribe to My Viuz Subscribe to My Viuz in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY MSN! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY AOL! Subscribe to My Viuz in Rojo!
As per a report:

People probably do not want to overhear you talking on your cell phone about your cat’s digestive problems. Also, they generally don’t like to see your gaze slip to your iPhone while you are supposed to be having an in-person conversation. Eyes up here, everyone!

The top offender, cited by 65 percent of those surveyed: Having loud or private conversations in public areas. Even in open floor plan offices, experts say this is something that can be easily avoided. “Your mobile phone is mobile. Stand up, walk to somewhere that’s a little bit more private to have those private conversations,” said Sydney Sloan, Jive’s social media expert.

Everyone who has a smartphone knows the allure of that little screen and its attendant alerts. That’s probably why 52 percent of those surveyed said another big annoyance is when people check their phones while having an in-person conversation.

As per a report:

2,000 mice floated down from the sky, wafting on tiny cardboard parachutes over Andersen Air Force Base in the U.S. territory of Guam. But the rodent commandos didn’t know they were on a mission: to help eradicate the brown tree snake, an invasive species that has caused millions of dollars in wildlife and commercial losses since it arrived a few decades ago.

That’s because they were dead. And pumped full of painkillers. The unlikely invasion was the fourth and biggest rodent air assault so far, part of an $8 million U.S. program approved in February to eradicate the snakes and save the exotic native birds that are their snack food.
